Hacker returns 5,000 stolen Ethereum to the HTX exchange.

The global exchange called HTX was hacked in September 2023 and lost ETH worth almost $8 million. CEO Justin Sun asked the attacker to return the stolen funds in exchange for a 5% bounty. The suspect returned the stolen funds, and HTX completed its obligation to pay the bounty.

It is unknown why the entire amount was returned before the bounty. To avoid lawsuits, it may be possible to show that the hacker no longer possesses the stolen funds.
