About Meegos
Meegos is the new collection from Blocksmith Labs who are allowing the expansion of their community through these cute and relatable characters. While not a great deal is known about Meegos yet, one thing we do know is that the team at BSL have always been regarded as top tier builders providing the eco-system with utility through their various products. Meegos will act as a new foundation for holders to establish their brand and take advantage of the Meegos IP.
The team has hinted that Meegos would make adorable plushies, star as video game characters and steal the show in relatable videos on social media. They understand that major IPs don’t just appear overnight and they aim to create emotional bonds with their audience through captivating gaming experiences, cutting edge tech and tapping into newcomers in the NFT space.
The mint breakdown was as follows:
Smyths claim 4444 Supply for 1400 $FORGE – Mint price will increase by 200 $FORGE each month, capped at 2000 $FORGE.
Whitelist & Public mint: 5300 supply – 3000 spots from MeeBoard, 1000 spots from MeeJump, 500 spots from MeeList, that leaves approximately 544 spots left for public mint.
BSL Treasury: 256 supply
As for the utility, so far we have seen a handful of the new tools that were put into action for the mint of Meegos. Lets take a look at them:
MeeBoard: A leaderboard style utility that allows people to vote on their favorite community using $FORGE. 1 vote = 1 $FORGE. 3000 Meegos whitelist spots were divided up between the top communities.
MeeJump: A web based game playable by holders of MeeCartridge. Top players at the end of each session got a Meegos whitelist spot.
MeeList: A utility allowing people to submit an application for review. Successful applicants earnt a Meegos whitelist spot.
On top of the above utilities, Meegos have also teased a few other things:
Meegos Welcome App: A place that sparks connections and fuels interactions amongst the Meegos community.
MeeStream: A dedicated space for the communities creativity to be showcased and celebrated.
MeeArcade: A new kind of gaming and rewards system that blend entertainment and rewards.
Charging: Charge up your Meegos to earn energy, spend energy to level up to earn higher tier rewards.
Their whitepaper hints at some more products namely Basil, MeeSports & MeeStores although no information is available yet.

Meegos is one of few projects that has managed to stir up quite the hype during the belly of this bear market. The team had a very smart approach at driving interest and hype to the new Meegos collection by utilizing a handful of their new products to award participants with whitelist spots at the same time burning a substantial amount of $FORGE in the process.
Marketing:
Smyths is an OG collection ran by the same team that released Meegos and one of their weak points has always been the marketing and social exposure of the Smyths collection. It has been amazing to see the team recognize this fault and put the work in to drastically improve their marketing efforts. All members of the Core Team have stepped up their social presence and are well respected in the eco system which is one thing I love to see in a team.
Roadmap:
For the time being, a lot of the Meegos roadmap is still a mystery. The 3 products they used to give away whitelist spots MeeBoard, MeeJump and MeeList have not been heard of since the mint sold out. If I was to speculate I would expect the team to offer a white label feature for these products allowing other businesses to use them within their own communities.
The other mentioned products that have not been released yet can be expected to have something to do with gaming, technology or content creation as that seems to be the core focus of the collection as well as bringing community members together in a meaningful way.
Art:
The team has done an outstanding job at creating the art that is Meegos. Each character is unique, increasing the chance that holders take full advantage of the IP rights and brandability of their cute characters. Im a big believer of attracting the right kind of people to a community and I think Meegos are doing just that.
Raise:
Meegos managed to raise around $500,000 USD with the mint of the new collection. No information has been released on how the team will allocate this capital but I have full faith that the team will put it to good use. They are top tier builders after all!
Conclusion:
With little information currently available about the future of Meegos, I expect it to be exciting nonetheless! I think the team have done an amazing job with this collection and I am really looking forward to seeing how Meegos and Smyths play out and the different products and collaborations that are released.
